We are looking for a Director of Engineering to join our rapidly growing engineering organization. Your direct reports will include about 3 engineering managers, each with teams of 6 to 8 engineers. As a Director, you will lead the multiple engineering teams to accelerate our growth. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and healthy communication are among the defining traits of Paxos executives.
This role will be reporting directly to our VP of Engineering.
What you will do:
- Build, develop and manage multiple engineering managers and team(s) to ensure successful delivery of roadmap initiatives
- Foster a culture of creating reliable products and best coding practices
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering managers and engineers
- Be a thought partner to other departments and leaders; collaborate closely with Product leaders on roadmap
- Define and deliver insights/metrics focused on the overall value and performance of engineering teams
What you need to have:
- 5+ years in engineering management with managing teams of up to 20 engineers
- Experience managing engineering managers and leaders
- Proven track record in building and attracting strong, diverse engineering talent to organizations
- Exceptional communication skills with extensive experience communicating to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leading agile software teams and managing multiple projects to ensure successful delivery
- Computer science degree (or equivalent)
