The Role

The Director, Digital Ad Operations will manage the strategy, implementation, and management of all digital media revenue generating products & partner offerings on the CoinDesk platform. Specifically, building out, implementing and managing the day-to-day execution of the following products/offerings:

  • ROS (run of site advertising)
  • Thought Leadership
  • Lead Generation
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Email newsletter advertising
  • Podcast sponsorship
  • CD TV and VOD advertising and sponsorship
  • Continue to develop and test new forms of innovation advertising, sponsorship and subscription solutions on the CoinDesk platform


  • Work with editorial, marketing and product teams to ensure the digital media products complement our desired user experience goals
  • Working with the sponsorship sales team to ensure product fit for new products
  • Driving new ad product innovation
  • Reviewing and updating the pricing for our digital media products relative to our competitors and the ROI they deliver to our clients
  • Developing systems and offers that allow us to exceed clients expectations for their digital campaign in order to generate repeat customers
  • Developing approaches to maximize the revenue based on the total inventory available on the website


  • Implementing and managing Ad Serving on
  • Creating and run a system to manage the deployment and success of each client’s campaign on and off of the CD platform 
  • Ensuring that all clients campaigns are optimized 
  • Constantly testing and evolving ad units and their performance
  • Creating and running a system to report on the success of each campaign using the key metrics for each product in a scalable way
  • Establishing and tracking quarterly internal and external benchmarks to compare performance of client’s campaigns
  • Managing a Customer Success/Account Management team to help execute the delivery of each client’s digital campaign as well as the reporting for each campaign
  • Maintain and evolve the CoinDesk Advertising Policy guidelines
  • Working with management and finance to provide accurate reports on digital media revenue

  • Digital Account managers and outside agencies


  • Bachelor's degree (Preferably in business management, computer sciences, data management, marketing or another related major)
  • 3+ years of Ad Operations experience
  • Publisher-facing ad ops experience a plus
  • Additional revenue operations, inventory management, or business analyst background preferred
  • Strongly Preferred: GAM Admin experience
  • Competent in IAB specs, VAST/VPAID, and various rich media vendors
  • Competent in IAB T&Cs
  • Experience training new team members and managing a minimum of one
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels in the organization, both written and verbally
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams on fixes, new ad products and other revenue initiatives
  • Performance-based campaign experience a plus
